① 剪定（せんてい）

雪深い冬、すべての枝に太陽の光が届き、風が通るよう、余分な枝を一本一本見極めて切り落とします。前年の実りを思い出しながら、課題を発見し改善を試みます。美味しいさくらんぼを育てるための最も重要な「骨組み作り」です。

② 移植・植え付け

次世代を担う新しい苗木を植え付けます。山形の豊かな土壌にしっかりと根を張り、数年後には立派な実をつけるよう、願いを込めて育て始めます。

③ 遅霜対策（散水凍結法）

春の芽吹きを襲う霜から守るため、水を撒いて氷の膜で芽を包み込む「散水凍結法」を行います。氷が溶ける時の潜熱を利用して、繊細な芽を守り抜くプロの技術です。

④ みつばち設置

開花に合わせてマメコバチを園地に迎えます。広大な園地を飛び回るハチたちは、確実に実を結ばせるための頼もしいパートナーです。

⑤ 開花・授粉

4月中旬、園地は白い花で満たされます。この短い開花期間に、ハチと人間が協力して、すべての花に命を吹き込んでいきます。

⑥ 授粉（手作業）

ハチだけでなく「毛ばたき」を使い、人の手でも一花ずつ丁寧に授粉を行います。一粒の欠けも許さない、王将果樹園のこだわりです。

⑦ 雨よけハウス

さくらんぼは雨に当たると実が割れてしまいます。収穫前に園地全体を巨大なビニールハウスで覆い、デリケートな実を大切に保護します。

⑧ 反射シート張り

地面に白い反射シートを敷き詰めます。太陽の光を下からも当てることで、お尻の部分までムラなく真っ赤な宝石へと色づかせます。

⑨ 摘果（てきか）

一粒一粒が大きく甘くなるよう、実の数を制限します。厳しい目利きで、選ばれし最高の実だけを木に残します。

⑩ 収穫

気温が上がる前の早朝、実が引き締まっている時間帯に一つひとつ手作業で収穫します。さくらんぼの鮮度はスピードが命です。

⑪ 出荷

収穫後、プロの目ですぐに選別・箱詰めを行います。山形の愛情をたっぷりと詰め込んで、鮮度そのままに皆様の元へ送り出します。

What is ”Open-field cultivation"?

A method of growing cherries in a natural environment. Depending on the variety of cherry, Sato-nishiki cherries are harvested from mid-June to early July. Since they are grown in a natural environment, they are greatly affected by the weather. The weather and temperature in April in particular can affect the harvest season and yield.Cherries bloom in full bloom from late April to early May, and the harvest season is about 50 days later. When they start to color, the roof is covered with vinyl to protect the cherries from rain to prevent them from cracking in the rain.
